In this session we address the risk of vulnerable members falling victim to financial abuse by a trusted acquaintance, often a family member. We will identify tips to detect abuse, review PIPEDA amendments intended to help financial institutions address this scenario, and review options to manage this fraud in a manner to reduce both member and credit union risk.
